Former Team Manager of Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta, Tajudeen Disu, has assured that the team would be regenerated to gain promotion to the Nigerian premier league in the next two seasons.
Disu, who alongside the club's management team ensured Gateway Football Club gained promotion to the elite league in 2005, said larger percentage of the club's football players would be placed on transfer market to pave the way for the club to recruit credible and exposed football players to actualise their desire to return the club to the premier league.
While speaking with Sportsweight.blogspot.com, the former Abiola Babes player, explained that the State's Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, had promised to make available funds to run the club professionally, stressing that lack of expertise to deprieved the club to sustain its status as a premier league team.
He said the club's management would ensure that the players allowances were as at when due, adding that that inability of most league clubs to pay their players allowances lead to series of crises in the Nigerian League.
He believed that most Nigerian football players would have stay put in the Nigerian league but lack of adequate welfare package for the players propel them to leave for greener pasteures in Europe.
