Coach Chinedu of Onigbongbo Ultimate strikers badly needed a victory on the day but better organisation and motivation gave Nath Boys a 2-0 win.
The first half was keenly contested but both sides couldn’t find the back of the net.
The Lekki boys had a lot of chances but faulty finishing and good defending from the Onigbongbo team left the game level going into half time.
Nath Boys resumed the game fired up and quickly dealt Onigbogbo a fatal blow as diminutive striker Aminu Abubakar caught the opposing defence napping an made them pay dearly in the 48th minute.
Chances were few and far between for both sides but the Onigbongbo team lacked that bite up front with striker Chukwendu drifting in and out of the game.
Onigbogbo saw a goal ruled off side by the observant lines woman in the 62nd minute.
The game heated up a notch when a penalty was awarded to Nath Boys when Aminu Abubakar was fouled in the area. The resulting penalty was converted by Damilola Apatira for Nath Boys.
This victory gives Nath Boys pole position at the top of the Premiership standings.
In other matches played in the Premiership Ikorodu West beat Odi Olowo by four goals to two as Oriadealso beat Oshodi Isolo 2 - 1, just as Surulere walloped Badagry West by three unreplied goals.
