Inspite of the inability of Vincent Enyeama to win he continent's African player of the Year award, the Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, is excited over the double awards Super Falcons striker, Assisat Oshoala, achieved in the Glo- CAF award where she was decorated the winners of Youth player of the Year and Woman Player of the Year.
Oshoala, who shone and excelled at almost every competition that she played in 2014, beat her compatriot Uchechi Sunday and Fabrica Ondoa of Cameroon to win the Youth player of the Year as she also defeated Desire Oparanozie and Anette Ngo Ndom of Cameroon to clinch the Woman player of the Year.
Its President, Amaju Pinnick, who described Oshoala as a worthy and super ambassador of Nigeria, said the player's double honour would motivate the NFF to support Super Falcons preparations for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada, adding that the Ikorodu- born player has made the nation proud.
Pinnick, said her feat was a testimony that Nigeria's football league is competitive and well orchestrated as top European clubs are chasing her to sign a lucrative contract.
Oshoala's first international competition was the FIFA Under 20 Women's World Cup in Canada where she aided Nigeria to te final before losing to Germany by One- nil.
Her seven goals led to her being named the Golden boot and Golden Ball award as she was also named the Most Valuable Player after scoring three goals at the African Women Championship in Namibia.
