
The Flying Eagles continued their impressive run at the Four –Nation Invitational Tournament in Egypt with a 7- nil spanking of the Kenyan team.
Most Valuable Player of the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria last year, Sani Emmanuel scored a brace as Omoh Ojabu recorded similar feat.
Midfielders George White Aguwocha and Eddy Onazi, as well as Stephen Adah completed the rout of the Kenyans by scoring a goal each.
In their first match of the tournament, the Nigerians piped Togo 1- nil, and they will play their last match against hosts Egypt on Friday.
The result meant Coach Sam John Obuh kept his impressive run of results since starting with the U-17 squad that finished as runners –up at the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year.
The winner of the round –robin competition will take home twenty thousand dollars as second placed team will settle for ten thousand dollars as the third –placed team gets five thousand dollars.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has fully endorsed the action of Coach Obuh in sending home midfielder Abdul Jelil Ajagun from the tournament after the player broke camp disciplinary code.
NFF 1st Vice President Amanze Uchegbulam, said the Federation supported Obuh's decision, stressing that discipline is very important in every facet of human endeavour.
The NFF has also promptly suspended the player, meaning he cannot play for his Club for now, and he will be have to face the Federation’s Disciplinary Committee in a few days.
