Twenty football clubs have registered for the second edition of the Golden Chance Lotto Football Tournament billed for next Saturday at the Lagos State Technical College, Agidingbi.
The tournament's coordinator, Lukman Tijani , ten more football clubs are still being expected to obtain forms as this Friday has been fixed as the deadline for purchase of forms.
Tijani, said the draw to usher in the tournamnet would be conducted this Saturday as the competition proper would kick start next Saturday.
According to him, the competition would be based on league format as the best two teams from each group would scale through to the next round of which another draws would be conducted.
Representative of the sponsor, Charles Aurthur, said the company decided to delve into grassroot football in a bid to create a platform where young football players would have opportunity to exhibit their skills.
Arthur, said the Golden Chance Lotto was well spread in the state, hence the reason the competition is attracting clubs from some of the Local Government areas and Local Council Development Areas, adding that the Nigeria Football Federation through its affiliated states football association should endeavor to visit match venues to identify with talents discovered.
He said the likes of Okocha, Kanu, Yobo and Yakubu were discovered from the grassroot football, adding that the tournament would help to produce football players who could become Nigeria's future stars.
He believed that NFF should establish a football academies in all the geo-plitical zones with a view of developing grassroot football, adding that the geture is the platform for sports development.
