
The Electoral Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has extended the return of forms by prospective candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections by two
weeks.
Sportsweight.blogspot.com reports that the propective candidates now have the chance to submit their forms by fifth of July as against the twenty first of June.
The Committee's Chairman , Abdul-Hakeem Mustapha, who made this known at a media parley yesterday in Abuja, explained that the step became necessary due to complaints by some of the candidates that they could not get members of the NFF to endorse their forms as a result of the on-going FIFA World Cup in South Africa .
According to Mustapha, nineteen out of twenty six candidates who had collected the forms have returned them, adding that the door is still open for the purchase of forms for intending contestants.
He assured that the committee would on the twelve of July make public the names of qualified candidates for the election.
While soliciting the support of all stakeholders in Nigerian football, he reiterated the committee’s determination to conduct a free, fair and transparent elections.
