At Last, Lagos State Set To Host International Youth Soccer Cup.

The annual Lagos International Youth Cup championship for under-17 for the Year 2010 has been slated to take place between first through Eight of August.


FC Utrecht of Holland; Super Sport United of South Africa; Liberty Football Club of Ghana and Lagos United of Nigeria will feature in the tournament which will take place at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.


The Chairman of Local Organising Committee, Godson Uti, said the teams are expected to play round robin matches with two matches to be played on daily basis.


Uti stated that, all the invited teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament which is aimed at developing the budding talents of the youth in Lagos in particular and also empower them in achieving their potentials to the fullest.


The tournament, a brainchild of the State Government through the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development enjoys the full support of the Government.

Students in school uniform would be allowed inside the TeslimBalogun Stadium while other spectators are expected to watch the matches with a fee.
