Professor Alonge Charges Minister To Establish ELAAD

A consultant of Trauma and Orthopedics Surgeon, Professor Temitope Alonge, has charged the Minister of Sports, Ibrahim Isa Bio and Sports Administrators to inclucate,ELAAD, Early, Life, Authenticated, Age and Dedication into Nigerian sports system to eradicate age cheat in Nigeria sports.

The Professor, made this statement on Tuesday at the 2010 Health Week of the National Institute For Sports with the "Theme Promoting Sports Development Through Health Education".

The issue of cheat age was well prominent when Nigeria's Captain of Golden Eaglets to the last FIFA Under 17 World Cup held in Nigeria, Fortune Chukwudi, was accused of being over age.

Alonge, said having radiograhy x-ray and Magnetic Resonance Imaging test is not the end of having proper diagnosis of catching age cheat but ELAAD was is being brandish in the world as a means to stop age cheat among Nigeria athletes, adding that the system would enable Nigerian sports administrators to know the exact time a particular athlete is born and the time he starts schooling.

While describing lack of data bank has the bane of age cheat in Nigeria, Professor Alonge, said it would be proper for the nation's sports administrators at all levels to delve into the system to circumvent the issue of age cheat which is affecting Nigerian sports.
