Nigeria head coach, Samson Siasia, has left out West Bromwich Albion striker, Peter Odemwingie, from Super Eagles’ games against Argentina and Ethiopia in June.
Reports, have it that Odemwingie opted out to take a break following the long season he had at his English club, where he has scored 15 goals this season.
Siasia named a 24-man team in Abuja,on Thursday in a press conference and added another two players on stand-by.
The Super Eagles face Argentina in an international friendly at the National Stadium in Abuja on June 1.
Four days later, Siasia's men head to Addis Ababa to play Ethiopia in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The reason for leaving out Odemwingie by the 43-year-old Nigeria manager was not immediately established.
But words are now flying that Siasia may have decided to punish Odemwingie for his recent rant on a social network website, Twitter.
