Manager of Dolphins Football Club of PortHarcourt, Stanley Eguma says he is still not comfortable with the level of officiating in last Thursday’s league match in Warri against Warri Wolves.
Dolphins lost the game 4-1 but Eguma insists that the first two goals against him should not have been counted, adding that there was also an infringement before the second goal for Warri Wolves.
He urged the Nigeria Premier League and its referee committee to look into cases like these so our league can indeed improve.
“Before Warri Wolves scored the firsts goal our defender was fouled but the referee ignored it,” Eguma said.
Eguma added that there was also an infringement before the second goal for Warri Wolves.
“The player who scored the goal played thirty seconds of the match without his boots on. His boot went off his foot and he continued on the run for a long time before he scored and I want to ask if the rules have changed on a player scoring without his boots on,” Eguma said.
On the Federation Cup, Eguma, said Dolphins are set to qualify for the Federation Cup round of 32 as they take on NAF Rockets of Minna on Tuesday in Jos.
The team rested over the weekend as their league opponents, Kaduna United had to play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Dolphins had lost 4-1 to Warri Wolves on Thursday but are still 2 points clear at the top as Sunshine Stars have two games in hand.
