Adegoke: We Have League, Cup Double In Sight.

Written By sportsweight.blogspot.com on Friday, July 15, 2011 | 12:28 AM

Dolphins full back, Mutui Adegoke says he is not bothered by the threat of Sunshine and Kano Pillars to the title winning run of Dolphins.

Adegoke, says he is sure that the club will win the Premier League and Federation Cup titles to add to the Rivers State FA Cup they have already won against Sharks.

“We have already started the season on a winning note and we are confident we will continue that way,” Adegoke said.

“After winning the Rivers State FA Cup from sharks we determined in our hearts that we will go the extra mile to get the League and Cup double just like it happened in 2004 and we see ourselves close to achieving that.”

Adegoke, who is not perturbed by the team's second position on the league table, said the first position being in possession of Sunshine Stars and the resurgent form of Kano Pillars, was not a threats to the ambitions of Dolphins.

Meanwhile, the club is praying for a peaceful outcome of the match as they get set to take on Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Satruday, .

When both sides met in the League last season, Dolphins scored first and after added time that lasted more than 20 minutes Pillars finally equalised through a penalty that was unjustly awarded.

Despite that the fans of Kano Pillars went on rampage injuring the match officials as well as players and officials of Dolphins.

We want Kano Pillars to know that they must embrace 1 Game and play football without violence since it is not a matter of life and death. There will only be three possible outcomes in Saturday’s game- A Pillars win, A Dolphins win or the game ends in a draw.

The ugly scenes witnessed after last season’s encounter was bad for the image of the Nigerian League and we urge Pillars to keep their fans in check so they do not do anything that wil bring the game to disrepute.

In the process, the Dolphins nurse was hit by a missile while midfielder, Sunday Mbah also passed out and had to be revived by the medical crew on ground.
