Nigeria's Flying Eagles, has finally left for Portugal after every member of the delegation had been issued visas by the Portuguese Embassy.
An earlier plan to have the team travel on Saturday night was jettisoned after some members of the delegation could not secure entry visa into Portugal on Friday.
The team departed the country from Lagos aboard Lufthansa Airline flight.
Sam John Obuh’s squad will be at the Browns Sports and Leisure Club, Faro until July 16 before flying to Panama for a four-nation tournament that will involve other nations that have qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed on Monday that the team will play the Portugal Under 20 national team in a friendly in Lisbon next Wednesday and that the team will arrive in Armenia venue of its first two Group D matches at the FIFA Under 20 World Cup from Panama on July 24.
