Lagos State To Organise U-15 Five - A - Side

Lagos State Government have commenced preparations for the inaugural edition of the Lagos Education District Under 15, Five –Aside Football Tournament billed to commence this month.

The gesture is part of the strategy and plan to prepare adequately for the football event of the 2012 National Sports Festival


The Consultant to Lagos State Government on Football Mr. Rogers Appleby who explained that the tournament would be organised in the six Educational District in the state with Educational District four comprising of Apapa, Surulere,and Mainland kick starting on July 25th-28th at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island.

The competition which he said has the backing of the Sports Ministry, Education Ministry, Lagos State Sports Council and the Lagos State Football Association is aimed at nurturing new talents, building a new broad based data base as well as developing true genuine young footballers for the state and by extension the country.

He said there would be coaching clinics where the 50 best players of each district would be selected to make a pool of 300 which will be later pruned down to 50 players before being handed over to the Lagos State Football Association for monitoring .
