Rookies Basketball Championship Dunks Off.

Exciting times awaits budding basketball stars as the 13th edition of the Rookies basketball championship which dunks off from 19th to 24th December 2011 at the police college basketball court in Ikeja, Lagos.

The championship will hold in both male and female categories (under 18 boys and Girls, under 16 boys, and under 14-12) with 23 basketball teams already registered for the longest running youth championship in the country.

The coordinator of the championship, coach Mark Balogun revealed that competition is being used for the development of the youths and build confidence for the upcoming basketball stars in the country.

Mark added that in line with international standards only trophies and memorabrilia will be giving to the winners in all categories.
The registered teams includes - Rookies Basketball academy, freedom BC, Zion BC, Raptors Basketball Club, Tornadoes Basketball Club, Timberwolves and impression Basketball Club from Delta states as well as Sango Warlords from Ogun State.

The event is being supported by communication outfit, IPNX which is in its second year and the police basketball association.
