Honourable Olowo Urges Ministry To Monitor Contractos.

A member of the House Committe on Youth, Sports and Social Development, Honourable Rotimi Oloto, has called on the Ministry of Sports to ascertain the quality of sports equipment available at the tertiary institutions ahead of the EKO 2012 Games in November.

 Olowo, who doubles as the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, mentioned University of Lagos,, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State University among others as the tertiary institutions supporting the state government quest in staging a befitting Games.

The lawmaker, said the move would enable the state government to help the institutions in providing quality sports equipment that meet up with the requirement of the National Sports Commission, adding that the renovation works was an indication that the state is ready to host the best national games in November.

 He expressed his displeasure over the level of renovation works at the Teslim Balogun Indoor Sportshall as he charged the contractor handling the project to complete it within the specified period of time before the scheduled visit of the Main Organising Committee on sports facilities on the first of October.
