Barely 37 days to the National Sports Festival (NSF) to be hosted by Lagos State, the Director of Sports in Ekiti State, Benjamin Olukayode Adewunmi has said that the target for the state is to surpass previous performances.

The sports administrator said with the athletes set for closed camp in two weeks time, coupled with the level of preparations so far, it is only natural that their hard work will translate into success at the festival.

Adewunmi expressed confidence that Lagos would host a land- mark game owing to the degree of facilities on ground, adding taht the recent ongoing development would make it easier for the state government to host a successful Games billed for Novemeber through December, 2012.

He further revealed that though other States have poached not less than five of his athletes, the vision of the state to move up the ladder in terms of position will not be deterred, stressing that Benue State will storm Lagos State with a compact team of a 100 –man contingent .

The sports festival is scheduled to kick-start November 29 through to December 9 this year.
