Super Eagles first choice goalie, Vincent Enyeama, has shrugged off suggestions making the rounds that he was not psychologically ready for last weekend’s game against the Lone Star of Liberia, declaring that he was indeed prepared to win back the confidence of Nigerians after recent criticisms of his performances.
He spoke Saturday evening after the comprehensive 6-1 win of the Super Eagles over Liberia, with bow-legged midfield star, Nosa Igiedor, declaring that the next target will be for the team to go ahead and win the Nations Cup trophy.
Earlier Enyeama, has also spoken in similar vein, declaring that the team will shock the rest of Africa at the Nations Cup championship in South Africa next year.
The stand in skipper, also said apart from dedicating the victory to every football loving Nigerians, injured skipper, Joseph Yobo, should celebrate the win as the team went all out for a win for his sake after he copped an injury days before the encounter in Calabar.
Meanwhile, Pamodzi boss Chief Mike Itemuagbor, has redeemed the $6000 promised the team for the number of goals scored in the encounter against Liberia last Saturday.
Harry Iwuala, who is the publicist of Pamodzi, revealed said the cheques to the five players who scored the six goals have since been issued and deposited with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation. “Pamodzi promises that many more of such gestures will come as we reach a crucial bend in Nigeria football development”, he said.
