The opening ceremony of the much awaited inter-local councils football championship brought joy to players who longed for opportunity to exhibit talents and fans as they carted home mouth prizes at the colourful kick-off held the Legacy pitch, inside the National stadium, Surulere.
32 registered teams drawn from the five football divisions of the state including team Lagos football side that will represent the state at the 'EKo 2012' 18th National sports festival took part in a match pass before the kick off and they will be digging for gold in the new next gout weeks.
Tournament coordinator, Uthman Ola Okunnu said the competition will start properly on Tuesday, October 2nd and matches will hold mid-week and weekends.
He commended Kalbe international and Orange drugs for partnering with the Lagos state ministry of youth, sports and social development through its sponsorship of the championship.
