Nigeria’s representative in the 2013 confederation of African Football, Champions League, Kano Pillars Football Club will depart the country today for an invitation competition in the Republic of Niger.
Kano Pillars F.C according to its Head Coach, Baba Ganaru, will compete with league leaders in Mali, Burkina Faso and Republic Niger.
Ganaru, while speaking with Sportsweight.blogspot.com at the 2nd edition of the League Bloggers Awards on Sunday, said the invitational tournament was a build up to their CAF champions’ league campaign as plans have been concluded to recruit seven football players in a bid to fortify the team ahead of next Nigeria Premier League Season.
While commending Kano state government for its enormous support, said the team would miss the service of Gabriel Reuben who have always been invited by the Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, to the senior national team, adding that the team management is working hard to recruit a football juggler who is as skillful as Gabriel Reuben.
The coach, who praised Nigerian League players, said it was disheartening that the nation’s league which have bunch of football talents lacks credible corporate sponsorship.
