The present Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation is not in any way corrupt, as it has worked assiduously to reposition Nigeria football, according to the Chairman of NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Emeka Inyama.
“It is in line with the mission and determination to take our football to higher levels that drove the Board to the various re-engineering processes that have yielded the results we are now witnessing in our Leagues and the different age-grade National Teams, as well as the Super Eagles.
“At this period, what the Aminu Maigari-led Board needs is massive support from Nigerians, not distraction. We are not there yet, but we request for total support from Nigerians in all ramifications to take our football to greater heights,” Inyama said on Tuesday.
The Chairman of the Nigeria National League also condemned calls from unpatriotic Nigerians who are at it again stoking the fire of discontent and disparaging the NFF, at a time that all the National Teams have qualified for every available major competition and are ready to do the country proud.
“The present NFF administration has invested heavily in youth development programmes and the result is there for all to see, with the recent performances of the various age-grade National Teams including the U-17 boys.
“Everyone agrees this team is one for the future and the NFF will guard it jealously to ensure the players graduate from this stage to the next level – that is, the U-20 squad.”
Inyama commended the NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari for the way and manner he has steered the Executive Committee, with sterling leadership qualities and doggedness.
“It is important that Nigerians from all walks of life should join hands with the Aminu Maigari-led Board instead of distracting it from set goals and objectives of taking Nigeria football to the next level.
“People come into the NFF Executive Committee through elections and anyone who wants to come on board should wait for the next elections.
The present Board is elected and should be allowed to serve out its term,” Inyama concluded.
