Tournament's number four seed, Ante Pavic, has qualified for the Men's Singles final of the Governor's Cup Tennis Llagos after he recorded an upset by defeating tournament's number one seed,Hiroki Kondo of Japan 6-3,6-2.
In another semi final match played yesterday at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan of India beat Andre Gaspar Murta of Portugal 6-1,6-2
To this end, Ante Pavic and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan will play each other in the final scheduled for today at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club as Governor Babatunde Fashola is expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of honour.
In the Women's Singles,Gioia Barbieri of Italy upset Tadeja Maeric, top seed in 6-2,6-, to book a date with Former winner Nina Bratchikova who defeated Naomi Broady of Great Britain 7-6,6-4, in the semi final clash
Meanwhile, the duo of Ante Pavic of Croatia and Ruan Roelofse of South Africa beat Borna Coric of Croatia and Dino Marcan of Croatia 7-5,6-3, in the Men's doubles event.
The pair of Fatma Al Nabhani of Omar and Gioia Barbieri of Italy beat Conny Perrin of Switzerland and Chanel Simmonds of South Africa 1- 6,6- 4, 10- 8.
