Ante Pavic of Croatia, has emerged the winner of Men's Singles, in the just concluded, future two, of the thirteenth edition of Governor's Cup Tennis Lagos which ended over the weekend at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.
Pavic, who was defeated by Dorna Coric of Croatia at the final of Future One, Men's Singles of Futures 1, was too much for the tournament's number two seed, Jeevan Neduchezayan of India, whom he defeated by two straight set of 6- 4,6- 3.
In a post match interview, Pavic, said he was at his best against Neduchezayan whom he regarded as a very good tennis player.
Women's Singles winner, unseeded Gioia Barbieri of Italy, whohas been a surprised star of the tournament recorded an upset as she defeated tournament's second seed Nina Bratchikova of Russia, 3-6,6-3,3- luv .
Barbieri, was declared the winner after her opponent Bratchikova bowed out of the tournament due to an aggravated kneel injury in the third set of
the women's singles final.
