Former Super Eagles and Monaco defender, Godwin Okpapa, has charged the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to beam its search light on the nation's indigenous coaches instead of employing a foreign technical adviser as Super Eagles Chief Coach.
Okpara, a member of the Golden Eaglets that featured in the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in 1989, said the nation was blessed with good football coaches who have the pedigree of winning laurels at international competitions, adding that the NFF should endeavor to engage the coaches on refresher courses in Europe and beyond.
Apart from focussing on the indegenous coaches, the former Super Eagles defender, said the NFF must endeavour to employ a coach who would instill disciplinary in the Super Eagles players who according to him are not determined to make the nation proud.
He said the winning streak of Super Eagles under the tutelage of Dutch tactician,Clemence Westerhof, was because they were focused and determined to make the final list ahead of a match or competitions unlike the present Eagles stars whose lackaidaisical attitude deprieved the nation from participating in the this year's edition of Equatorial Giunea African Cup of Nations, Afcon.
