Iniabasi Umotong stormed the team’s Abuja camp Wednesday and expressed
her readiness to fight for a place in the World cup bound squad.
Speaking soon after arrival in Abuja stated that she is overjoyed to
be in Nigeria and that she is looking forward playing and helping Super
Falcons to achieve successes.
“It is exciting to be home. I am so excited to be here and to be
involved. I have met the players and officials and they gave me a very
good welcome and I feel at home in their midst. I am ready to go.
“I hope I will be able to cope with hot weather condition here and
new set up otherwise I can’t wait to don the colours of my country. I
want to play for Nigeria, I was born here and I am excited at the
prospect of donning the green/white colours of Nigeria” she said.
The 20 year old who has represented England at U-15 level expressed
the optimism that she can make the team to the world cup in Canada
adding she would work hard to make the final cut.
“I hope so I like to think I can make it so but we will see when I
get to training with the team because I don’t know each players
capability, what their skills are so it hard to judge my self now
against them. But I like to think I can make the team to the World Cup”
