O'Jez Appreciates Table Tennis Players

For winning fourteen medals at the forty- seventh edition of Asoju Oba Table Tennis Championship, the Chief Executive Officer of O'jez Table Tennis Club, Joseph Ojebuatu, has compensated his table tennis players with cash award.

The Men's singles trophy, won by Ahmed Adeyinka was presented to the CEO of O'jez Table Tennis Club Joseph Ojebuatu and the committee members on Monday at the Ojez Club inside the National Stadium Surulere.

O'jez table tennis club won fourteen medals at the Asoju Oba Table Tennis Championship as Ahmed Adeyinka outplayed Ayo Omotara of O'jez Table Tennis Club in the final by four set to three in an exciting final.

A member of O'jez sports project, Offiong Uyom, said the club was a segment of the conglomerate of O'jez Sports Project, which is part of Ojebuatu to give  back to the society, hence the reason for the establishment of the table tennis club.

Following the high concentration on football, the committee decided to delve into table tennis, Swimming and boxing as the concept was gesture at nurturing talents from the basics and to make them future champions, adding that the O'jez Sports Project was designed to invest in the grassroot sports which was the future of Sports in Nigeria.

While noting that the O'jez sports project has the structure to enable the ping pongers to feature in international table tennis tournaments, the veteran sports journalist, advised the ping pongers not to rest on their oars but contimnue to work hard to further achieve success in their chosen professional career.
