Following the two-nil defeat to Madagascar at the ongoing 2019 Egypt Africa of Nations, AFCONS, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has urged the Super Eagles players to forget about the defeat and focus their next match in the round of 16.
While addressing the team in the dressing room, the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, said the match result showed that there were no minnows in African football, stressing that the squad approached the match with levity and a mindset of playing against a low rated team.
The NFF boss, charged the Super Eagles players to rekindle the Nigerian Spirit in them to make the nation's teeming football fans happy and also to book quarter final ticket, adding that the players had to redouble their efforts to win the competition for the fourth time.
Noting that the best of Super Eagles was not good enough to earn the team a win against Madagascar, Pinnick, encouraged the players to be in the right frame of mind ahead of their subsequent matches at the ongoing continental soccer fiesta.
He appealed to the players to help the Federation which had to invite Abia State Governor, Okozie Ikpeazu, to cheer the teamto victory at the continental soccer fiesta.
Madagascar, which recorded two- all draw against Guinea, during the team's first Group B match, defeated Burundi by a lone goal and Nigeria by two unreplied goals to top Group B, with seven points.
