First Bank Through To Semi Final.

Defending champion of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women, First Bank basketball club of Nigeria has proved champion stuff when it shove aside host CSFB of Tunisia by 69-51 points in the third quarter-finals of the continent biggest women club championship.

The Elephant Girls who finished third in Group-B won the first quarter by 14-12 points but the Tunisian fought back in the second quarter with a 13-19 to take a 27-31 points lead.

The Tunisian continued a charged offense on the Nigerian extending the lead to 27-35 points early in the third quarter but First Bank fell back on experience to rattle the host first adopting a slow pace to the game which frustrated the Tunisian as First Bank took control of the game towards the end of the third quarter.

First Bank won the third quarter by 19-10 points to take a 46-41 points lead going into the last quarter which the defending champion also won 13-10 to end the game at 69-51 points 14-12, 13-19, 19-10 and 13-10.

Other quarter-final games decided, Interclube basketball club of Angola getting the better of INJS basketball club of Cameroon by a whopping 77-27.

Abidjan Basket Club (ABC) defeated fellow Ivories Club Sportif of Abidjan (CSA) by 77-60 points while former champion, Despotivo basketball club of Mozambique went past Arc-En-Ciel of Democratic Republic of Congo by 87-55 points.

Interclube basketball club of Angola will battle 2009 runner-up Abidjan Basket Club (ABC) in the first semi-finals at 17H00 while Despotivo of Mozambique and First Bank of Nigeria will take to the floor in a game of two champion at 19H00.
