Fashola Receives Barclays Premier League Trophy.

Governor,Babatunde Raji Fashola, has been presented the English Barclays Premier League Trophy which berthed in Lagos on Tuesday in his office by the Multi Choice Group led by the Managing Director, Joseph Honda.

Fashola on behalf of the State Government, people of Lagos State and millions of fans of the English Premier League appreciated Multi Choice for bringing the trophy close to home where the Premier League enjoys a large following, stressing that the Barclays Premier League has become an International Brand which has enhanced economies across the globe.

He opined that Manchester United FC has both hands on the trophy for winning it back to back,adding that the determination of Manchester United FC to continue to win the trophy should be imbibed by the Nigerian youth in spite of multiple wins in the past.

Earlier the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Wahid Enitan Oshodi represented by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Sports, Delano Adepoju-Conde said Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola is a passionate fan of Manchester United FC which won the last edition of the Premiership.

Adepoju-Conde stated that the presentation was in recognition of the strong fan base of the Premiership among the 18 million inhabitants of the State, who on weekly basis out of tradition watch the Premier League from homes, viewing centres, clubs and restaurants transmitted by the DSTv channels promoted by Multi Choice Nigeria Limited.

Meanwhile, the General Manage of the SupersportNigeria, Felix Awogu, has expressed his happiness over the unalloyed loyalty of their subscribers for being with the biggest football brand in the world.

Awogu, who made this remark in Lagos on Tuesday during the Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour, said Lagos was considered because of its overwhelming followership of the premiership following its population of 18 million.

He said Supersport was delighted to bring the league trophy too Nigeria because the stood firm with them even when the lost the grip of the English Premier League, stressing that Supersport have the best five football leagues in the world, La liga, Serie A, EPL,Bundesliga and Ligue One.

The trophy which departed Ghana for Nigeria will leave Lagos today for Abuja.
