Players and officials of the national team, Super Eagles, were still in battle mood after they were told that the team will no longer be travelling to Cotonnou , Benin Republic to take on the Palancas Negras of Angola in an international friendly.
Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, had told the players during dinner on Saturday evening that the plan to travel to Benin Republic, has been shelved and that the players should get ready to play against Angola in Abuja or any part of the country that the Nigeria Football Federation, may direct the team to.
Most of the players did not express any surprise at the change of venue but rather were concerned whether the game will take place or not. To which they were assured that the game will surely hold, as the Angolan side is expected to fly into Nigeria in a chartered flight.
There was no training on Sunday morning as players and officials were given the time off to go to their various places of worship. As has become the tradition Sunday evening training which begun at about 4:20pm, and lasted for over two hours was rigorous, intense and targeted at bringing out the best in the players in the scheduled friendlies against Angola and Liberi
