Lagos Set To Inaugurate 36 Sports Associations.

Honourable Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development in Lagos State, Barrister Wahid Enitan Oshodi has disclosed in his Office that the recently constituted thirty six (36) Sports Associations in the State would be inaugurated on Tuesday, 24th January 2012 at the Sir Molade Okoya Thomas Indoor Multipurpose Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The 36 Sports Associations which were reconstituted on Friday, 30th December, 2011 will kick start the build up to the 18th National Sports Festival to be hosted by November 2012 by organising competitions and tournaments for the budding talents that abound in the State.

Enitan Oshodi stated earlier that, the State Government will be watching each Sport Association performance with an appraisal to be carried out every six months. We will definitely be changing members as we go along.

Each Sport Association would be issued with guidelines on the effective running of the Associations in order to realise maximum result for the various budding talents that abound. The Athletes are to be the ‘focus’ in this new dispensation, he concluded.
