The JSS 3
student of Government Secondary School, Kano, hit his right knee on a
concrete pavement
stand close to the team’s training pitch after losing his balance, while
trying
to make a cross in training on the night.
Team’s
doctor, Olarinoye Ayodeji, said he would be out for at least one week.
“He needs
to rest the leg for at least one week, because the impact made with the
pavement has caused him a great pain, but it’s not something serious.”
Fourteen
year old Anas who was also part of the Under-13 National Team that won the
2010 International
Youth Championship played in England, has however revealed, on Tuesday
morning
that he was feeling much better and hopes he will be reinvited to the
team in
May, for the final stage of the team’s camping.
“I’m
feeling good now, my knee does not hurt like it did yesterday, although I
cannot run yet, but I know I will be fit to play again in few days.”
Thirty
players will be picked from the forty five currently in camp, for the
final
phase of camping in May.
