The death of former Nigeria's Super Eagles defender, Olubayo Adefemi, has been regarded as a death pre-determined by God.
Olubayo's fiancee, Shade Adeshina, who made this comment at Atan Cemetery during the deceased one year remembrance service, said Adefemi could had been alive today if he had not heeded to pressure to pay a visit to Nigeria on the 18th of April, 2011.
The service was conducted by Leader Adewora Clement of the Celestial Church of Christ, Shomolu Parish.
She said the another person had already secured the last ticket for the flight but Adefemi had to make an appeal to secure a ticket to board an airline to Nigeria but it was sad that the football player died on his way to the airport en route Nigeria.
While advising her counterparts to always wait on God no matter the situation they are being confronted with, Adeshina, said she pressurized the late football player in order to finalise their wedding arrangements despite the word of knowledge on Olubayo Adefemi as she advised Nigerian ladies to always wait on God no matter the challenges they are
facing.
According to her, Olubayo was supposed to be in Nigeria in June, 2011 for the wedding arrangements but she was head bent that the football player must be in the country probably to avert the incident but it was unfortunate that her quest for his early arrival resulted in the football player's death.
He regarded Olubayo as a person who is down to earth and ready to strive hard to pave the way for others to excel in life, adding that she would keep all the positive attitude she had learned from him because he live a free life despite being a football star of note.
Olubayo Adefemi who died on 18th of April, 2011, in Russia.
Abiodun Adefemi, Kemi Araotanlaye, Bukola Adeite, Bunmi Adefemi and his fiancee, Shade Adeshina, friends, well wishers, Victor IKpeba, Sports Journalists, football administrators among others were at the one year service.
