NTTF Secures $8,000 Scholarship On Ojo Onaolapo.

The Nigerian Table Tennis Federation, NTTF, has secured eight thousand dollars Olympic solidarity scholarship for junior international Ojo Onaolapo.
A statement issued by the Federation's President, Kayode Abdulwahab-Omotose said that the scholarship would enable him compete at the forthcoming Slovak, Swedish and Morocco Open championships.
An elated NTTF President , said the gesture would enable Onaolapo to train at the renowned Werner Schlager sports Academy in Austria to sharpen his skills.
According to him, the Federation was accorded the opportunity duue to series of meetings and consultation undertaken during the recently concluded world championship in Dortmund, Germany.
In a letter signed by Polona Cehovin Susin, ITTF Deputy Executive Director Education and Training, Polona expressed the desire of the international body to nurture talented youths to world stardom via the HOPES programme under whose auspices Ojo Onaolapo is being piloted.
Onaolapo's coach, Dotun Omoniyi who will accompany the dual gold medal winner at the last national sports festival in Port Harcourt, has been working with the junior national players along with Bose Kaffo.
Meanwhile the NTTF which is expected to shoulder some responsibilities including financial outlays has commenced action by registering Ojo for the Slovak Open and will soon apply for visa to enable Ojo and his coach enjoy the facility.
It would be recalled that Ojo, who was picked to join the Segun Toriola led senior national team to Germany last month, was spotted by ITTF during the 2010 junior Olympics in Singapore where he emerged as the only non Asian that got to the quarter finals of the table tennis event.
He also enjoyed Olympic solidarity scholarship that was packaged by the Nigerian Olympic Committee as he also played in Hong Kong enroute Singapore where he was tutored by coach Dotun whose sponsorship was borne entirely by NTTF that year.
