National champion in the flyweight category Mutiat Adebayo has her sight set on glory at the forthcoming 18th National sports festival 'Eko 2012' scheduled from November 27th to December 9th.
Adebayo, one of the eight boxers in the Adopt-a-talent sports programme which had intensive training for the pugilists at the Jalisco sports centre, Oshodi thanked the Lagos State government for giving the athletes opportunity to combine academic and sports through the developmental project piloted by the office of the senior special assistant to governor Babatunde Fashola on grassroots sports development.
The boxing protege, one of the 180 athletes that participated in the 10 days vacation camp organised by management of the adopt-a-talent, said she is living her dream of schooling and using boxing talent as an oysters.
"the training at the adopt-talent has been so great, we learnt so many new things in the camp and I say a big thank you to Governor Babatunde Fashola for making us special because we are going to school and doing sports" Adebayo said.
The Golden girl from the last festival in Port Harcourt 'garden city games' promise to repeat her gold medal winning feat on home soil in November.
"I'm a gold medallist in my weight division from the last sports festival and I'm expecting the same thing to happen by the grace God. I'm training hard and I know that God will help me to win same gold medal for Lagos" she said.
