Former Green Eagles ace winger, Segun Odegbami, has said that the current group of Super Eagles Football players do not have football pedigree to win the CAF 2013 African Nations cup in South Africa.
Odegbami, who praised Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi for paving the way for Nigeria’s Premier League to feature in competitive competitions, said the quality of Nigeria’s football players at the coach’s disposal disposal were good but they are not too good to win the continental soccer fiesta which is scheduled for January, 2013.
The former shooting stars player, who acknowledged that Keshi was on the right direction to search for credible football players would be dedicated and determined to make the nation proud, adding that the Super Eagles would make impression as one of the favourites to win the competition but such feat require stronger players.
He said it would be difficult to Keshi to prepare a virile and a winning quad within a period of two months to the competition proper, adding that Keshi is a building a future team which would win the African Nations Cup in 2015.
He said it would be a bonus of Eagles win the competition with the present players as he is convinced that Nigeria would definitely win the 2015 edition of the event with the building process embarked upon by Keshi.
