Oluyomi Sule, the National head coach of horizontal jumper team has appealed to the well-meaning Nigerians and public-spirited individuals to emulate the vision of Late Sunday Bama at grassroots sports development in their various communities.
Late Sunday Bada, a former Olympian and Police Superintendent kicked off the Bada 12 kilometre Marathon Race initiative in 2009 with aim to breed young talents who can replace him on the track.
This year was the fourth edition of the competition which has continued to produce major sporting talents such as Kemi Francis and Aderonke Olumudi who have represented the country as major National Sports Championships and international events.
Sule while describing the late Bada as a "small god", stressed that the legend had touched many lives in terms of employment into the Police Force and sports talents breeding.
He admitted that grassroots programme in the like of Bada 12km Marathon race initiative of Late Sunday Bada was the best successful events he has ever witnessed in Nigeria.
He, however called on the state government to honour the late Sunday Bada assessing his massive success in and off the track, influence on Odigi Community and making Kogi state proud.
