The Technical Sub-Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation will tomorrow meet in Abuja to deliberate on several issues related to Nigeria’s participation at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, the African Youth Championship for Under 20 players and the African Under 17 Championship.

Chairman of the committee,Chris Green said that Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Stephen Keshi would tomorrow appear before the committee to provide illumination on his plans to ensure a glorious performance for Nigeria at the South Africa 2013 African Nations Cup.

Nigeria is paired alongside Burkina Faso, Zambia and Ethiopia in Group C of the 29th Africa Cup of Nations, with matches in Nelspruit and Rustenburg.

Green, said the meeting was geared at starting an integrated preparations for all the national team ahead of major tournaments, adding that they are determined to assist the teams so that Nigeria’s flag must be flown brightly and with dignity at every international championships.

“There are a lot of issues on the table and we have to treat them in order that our teams can start integrated preparations for these major competitions.

“It is not enough for our teams to qualify for competitions; we are determined that Nigeria’s flag must be flown brightly and with dignity at every international championship,” said Barrister Green.

Also on Wednesday, NFF’s Assistant Director (Media), Ademola Olajire decried a report in a national newspaper that the duties of the Technical Committee had been handed over to the Technical Department. “That is not true.

The Technical Committee has a lot of work to do as most of our teams have to prepare hard for upcoming continental tournaments, and the committee has so much on its plate.

“The Technical Department simply implements policies as enunciated by the Technical Committee. So, there is no conflict of roles and this should be clearly understood.”
