Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi has said neither the technical crew, NFF nor the Nigerian public will take excuses from the players if they fail to qualify for the knock-out stage of the ongoing Nations Cup in South Africa, as the team has potentials to be champions of the tourney.
Addressing the players at the team’s evening training in Rustenberg, Keshi said the team should be demoralised by the calls they had been receiving by officiating officials over their performance at the African Nations Cup, stressing that they have learned to finish games well and with wide margins.
The coach, reiterated his confidence in the abilities of his 23-man squad to do Nigeria proud at the tourney, adding that the Super Eagles have a rich tradition in the Nations Cup that must be sustained and improved upon by the present squad.
On news making the rounds that he is at loggerheads with the NFF and even threatened to resign his appointment, Keshi said he would not have been with the team in readiness for tomorrow' s matcht if he had resigned.
