Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Emeka Inyama, says he sees the Super Eagles flying over the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter final clash in Rustenburg.
Inyama, also Chairman of the Nigeria National League and Member of the NFF Executive Committee, said the Super Eagles were in upbeat mood, following yesterday’s win over Ethiopia, and it would be very difficult to stop them from reaching the semi final.
He added that the Elephants had greater pedigree and rating than Nigeria's Football players but the Eagles knows how to rise to the occasion when they meet a better team.
Coach Stephen Keshi started the tournament with a central defence pair of skipper Joseph Yobo and Godfrey Oboabona but brought in Kenneth Omeruo for Yobo against Zambia, with Ogenyi Onazi filling in at right back for the suspended Efe Ambrose.
Ambrose reclaimed the right back slot against Ethiopia with Sunday Mba starting in place of Nosa Igiebor as Ikechukwu Uche also started against Ethiopia before giving way for Ahmed Musa.
