Kogi United Yet To Get Funds To Execute NNL Campaign

Nigeria National League club, Kogi United who plays in Division one are yet to access fund for smooth running of their underway league campaign going into its third season game.
Complains has continued to emerge from the camp of Kogi United that the team are yet to get financial support from the State government.
The Chairman, Kogi State Football Technical Committee, Mustapha Allay-Dey who confirmed the development, said they were still waiting on the Commissioner of Sports for the released of funds from the Ministry of Sports to facilitate the programmes of the NNL club.
The Allay-Dey led Kogi State Football Technical Committee has appealed to the Kogi State Ministry of Sports for release of funds to execute their 2012/2013 Nigeria National League campaign.
The club who are currently groaning over the increasing challenges faced in the smooth running of affairs and servicing activities may begin to take its toll on their performance and halt the governor’s quest to have the club promoted into the Nigeria Premier League.
Allay-Dey, implored the Kogi State Sports Commissioner,Puke Anthony on the immediate release of funds going into third season game.
“We are still expecting response from the Commissioner of Sports on the release of fund. We are finding hard to cope with expenses as no funds is available in the club’s purse,Allay-Dey explained.
The state government has approved and ordered the release of the funds but yet to get the State Football management committee account as its still remains in the coffers of the Ministry of Youths and Sports.
