Eaglets Head Coach, Manu Garba , has assured additional four players that breezed into the Golden Eaglets' Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence camp on Monday have equal chances of making the final list of 21 for the forthcoming CAN Under 17 Championship.

The football players are, Prince Bokat, Godwin Saviour, Godwin Odibo and Chinedu Onuademu who
were held back in Nigeria due to Visa hitches while the rest of the team jetted out on a training tour of Doha almost two weeks ago, were reunited with their teammates Monday night.

The quartet promptly joined the team's training session yesterday much to the delight of the coaching crew who applauded their good form despite for obvious reasons. "The most important thing is that the boys have eventually joined us,"Garba said."We are happy to have the full complement of the players at last and they have seen that they have to wake up."

Garba, maintained that the four players stand a good chance of making the team because they made the original 30-man list on their merit and would eventually be picked on merit."Our team selection is usually based on merit and I always pray to God to give us the wisdom to pick the right players at any given time,” he said.

Speaking in the same vein, Coach Siji Lagunju of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Department, who accompanied the players to Doha, said the facility at the Aspire centre is more than impressive, saying he was happy with the standard he met on ground.

The former Nigerian international winger said he was not surprised t hat the four players made a seamless transition in training since they were under his strict supervision back in Abuja.

“Of course, the four players that came along with me from Abuja had been training even while we were sorting out their travel arrangements,” he said.

"Their arrival would boost competition amongst the players which is a healthy development to the team."

Speaking further to the team after the midday training session, Coach Lagunju praised the team's technical crew for the progress already made.
