The Nigeria Football Federation has commended organizers of the Night of Stars ceremony, which took place in Calabar at the weekend, saying it was a great prelude for the upcoming Nigeria Pitch Awards.

Matchmakers Consult International Limited, endorsed by the NFF to organize the Nigeria Pitch Awards, which inaugural edition comes up later in the year, put up a good show with the Night of Stars ceremony at the Transcorp Hotels, Calabar on Saturday night.

Chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Chief Emeka Inyama said: “The event was a success, and Matchmakers should be praised for its efforts and the genuineness of its intentions. The young man (Shina Philips) has great ideas, and on the evidence of what we saw in Calabar, NFF is not averse to supporting him and his company to make a statement with the Awards proper.

“It was a credible show, with sincerity of purpose. The Executive Governors of Cross River and Rivers States were represented, Super Eagles’ captain and team officials and the NFF Executive Committee members and Management were there in full force, alongside prominent stakeholders in the Nigeria game and top Nollywood superstars.”
