History was made on Tuesday when the Nigeria National League and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) signed a three-year deal worth N27 million, to insure players and officials of the NNL.
It is the first time that Nigeria’s second-tier would have an official insurer.
“This is a ground-breaking event. We are delighted with this deal because the Nigeria National League had never had an official insurer, and for us to have such a mouth-watering agreement speaks volume of the confidence that Corporate Nigeria now has in the NNL, a direct result of the hard work, innovation and transparency that we have brought on board,” said Chief Emeka Inyama, Chairman of the Nigeria National League.
The epoch event saw Chief Inyama sign on behalf of the NNL while Mr. Rotimi Fashola, Managing Director of IGI, signed on behalf of the company.
