MultiChoice Nigeria Boost DSTV/NBBF League With 145 Million Dollars.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation,NBBF, has thanked the management of Multichoice, Nigeria for blessing the federation with the huge sum of One hundred and fifty million dollars for a period of four years.

Its President, Tijani Umar, who made this remark yesterday at a Pressing Briefing at the Media centre of the National Stadium, Surulere, said the gesture would enable the NBBF to make available forty percent of the sponsorship deal to the basketball teams participating in the DSTV Nigeria Basketball League.

Umar, called on the participating teams to take advantage of the window provided by the premium satelite television station to add value to the league since it would be beamed across the world.

General Manager of DSTV, Mayo Okunola, who represented the Managing Director, John Ugbe, said he was glad that the league is coming up finally after being delayed for a while, adding that the need to seal a proper agreement towards the league necessitated the delay of the DSTV Nigeria Basketball League.

He said Multichoice Nigeria was committed to the game of basketball and they want Nigeria's D'Tiger tofeatur in the basketball event of the Rio, 2016 Olympic Games following their performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
