Globacom, DSTV, Brila FM Back Worshop On Nigerian Football.

Leading telecommunications operator, Globacom Limited has lent its huge corporate weight behind the planned workshop by the Lagos State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) as the official sponsor.

 The workshop with the theme: "Promoting, Projecting and Re-positioning Domestic Football in Nigeria: A Challenge for the Media", comes up on Thursday and Friday, September 12 and 13 at the Auditorium of the Lagos SWAN Secretariat at the  National Stadium Complex.


Also supporting the workshop are direct to home television channel operators, DSTV, foremost sports radio station, 88.9 Sports Radio Brila FM and Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Hon.Nduka Irabor.. 

 While the Honourable Minister and  Chairman, National sports Commission, Bolaji Abdulahi, is expected to deliver the keynote address, Dr. Ken Onyeali Ikpe, the Managing Director of Allseasons MediaCom Limited will lead a team of communications and journalism scholars including Martin Oloja of The Guardian newspapers, Larry Izamoje of Brila FM, Jenkins Alumona, MD, Strategic Outcome Limited and Colin Udoh, the Editor of goal.com and a FIFA Media Officer, as resource persons at the two-day workshop expected to be attended by media owners and top media executives, Glo Premier League club officials, club media officers and sports journalists.


Also expected at the event are president and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation and members of the League Management Company both of which have given their stamp of endorsement to the initiative.


The conference and workshop is designed to build media and football stakeholders consensus and commitment towards solving the problem of the low attraction and interest of Nigeria's football fan base on the nation's domestic football.
