MultiChoice Nigeria Set To Re- brand DSTV/NBBF Premier League.

Worried over empty seats at the indoor sportshall of the National Stadium, Surulere during this year's DSTV/NBBF Premier Basketball league action, the league sponsor, Multichoice Nigeria, has concluded plans to add value to the league that would drive basketball fans to watch live league matches.
General Manager, Marketing and Sales, MultiChoice Nigeria,Martin Mabutho,made this statement while speaking with sports journalists.
In a bid to re-brand the league in a such a way that it would attract basketball fans to visit match venues, Mabutho, said they had decided to organise a basketball fiesta on Saturday, 15th of September, at the University of Lagos, Akoka,stressing that the event which would be attended basketball stakeholders as well as entertainers so as to make the sport popular.
Mabutho, who observed that most of the countries where basketball is second to none, introduced similar programme to attract crowd to watch live basketball league matches, said it did portray Nigeria in a bad light when there are empty seats when live basketball matches were beamed on their premium satellite television station,Super Sport.
President of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Umar Tijnai, who commended the sponsor for its laudable programme geared at driving crowd to match venues, said the gesture would regenerate the standard of the 2013/2014 league season in the term of value added to the league.
Tijani, said NBBF and the sponsor had agreed that there is need for additional money for all the teams participating in the league so as to improve and add value to the league, adding that the premier league clubs should also endeavor to seek for sponsorship to give the league a lift apart from the funds gotten from the league sponsor..
