Head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, says the scoreline of two - one victory against the Ethiopian side in a friendly played over the weekend at the Abuja National Stadium does not matter to him buy he his satisfied with the team performance.
Keshi, who believe in the team he has been able to work with under three weeks, said it was too short to raise a formidable team within three weeks prior to the African Nations Championship,CHAN, as he believed tat the team would go places in South Africa when the CHAN kicks off.
“Three weeks is too short to raise a national team but for me the scoreline does not matter because we are getting the results we want from the players, they will sure go places”.said Keshi
NFA President, Aminu Maigari, who towed a similar line, said the Nigerian league would form the fulcrum of the future Super Eagles.
Maigari , who spoke through association's Technical Committee Chairman, Barr Christopher Green, praised the job that Keshi is doing with the home based squad.
Former National Broadcasting Commission Chairman and an avid football follower, Mallam Danladi Bako, said Nigeria was getting it right in football.
“I told a few friends on the executive committee that all they need to do is to be patriotism, dedication and the results will come for Nigeria. Barr Green will bear me out, today we are seeing the results but we must not rest on our oarse”.
