Lagos Premier Lotto Athletics Championship Wil Pproduce World Class Athletes, Says Oshodi.

Over eight hundred pupils from one thousand secondary schools in Lagos State will compete in the second edition of the Lagos Premier Lotto Athletics Championship billed to start on Monday, 24th of February at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The State's Commissioner for Sports, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, who claimed that the athletic meet for secondary schools pupils in the private schools and public schools will allow the discovered athletes to advance to the state, national and world's platform of track and field, said the progrmme would afford the discovered outstanding athletes to be part of the holiday programme which would be supervised by former Olympics Gold Medalist, Lee Evans and Tony Osheku at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

While appreciating the sponsor, Chief Keshinton Adebukola Adebutu, for his staunched support for the growth of sports in Nigeria, Oshodi, said products of the Lagos Premier Lotto Athletes Championship, who ran at the maiden edition, would be representing Nigeria at the African Youth Championship.

The Commissioner for Sports, explained that the championship serve as a positive measure to discover and develop talented young athletes at an organised grassroot athletic event, stressing that outstanding athletes would be rewarded with educational materials and sports equipment.

The sponsor, Chief Kessington Adebukola Adebutu, thanked the Lagos State Government for creating a conducive environment to organise the event which would produce Nigeria's future stars.
