Chiwendu Ihezuo tops the list of Nigeria's female football players selected for this year's FIFA Under 17 Women World Cup in Costa Rica.
Ihezuo, who was member of the Nigeria's under seventeen team that won a silverware at the 2012 FIFA Under seventeen Women's World Cup, in Azerbaijan, was selected alongside twenty female football players Ihezuo scored five goals when the Flamingoes humiliated host Azerbaijan 11-0 in a group phase match in 2012.
Other selected players selected are Joy Bokiri, Aminat Yakubu, Uchenna Kanu, Ugochi Emenayo, Mary Ologbosere, Patience Dike and Tessy Biahwo.by the team's coach, Bala Nik,
Ihezuo, who will captain the squad as Nigeria searches for a first-ever triumph in the cadet competition that was inaugurated in New Zealand in 2008, scored six goals at the last tournament in Azerbaijan to finish second top-scorer, behind North Korea's Ri Un-Sim.
Having undergo a three week training tour of Faro, Portugal, in readiness for the FIFA Under seventeen World Cup, Head coach of Nigeria's Flamingo, Bala Nikyu, is confident that his team will surpass its past records in the history of the World Cup.
