The management of the Metro Pro League has called for the immediate release of over 200 girls that were adopted from a Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State.

This clarion call was made on Thursday just before the kick off of the Metro Pro League’ Week 13 tie between Bridge FC and their Yobo FC counterparts at the Agege Stadium on Thursday.

In solidarity to the search for the missing girls, both teams displayed placards with various inscriptions such as; ‘We want our girls back’, ‘enough is enough’, ‘free our sisters’, ‘bring back our girls’ with a clear message that Metro Pro League Cares to press home demand for the girls.

In a voice laden with emotion, the Metro Pro League, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Victor Akinyooye pleaded with the Federal Government to put machinery in motion for the release of the girls.

“Metro Pro League is part of this crusade as football can only thrive in a peaceful environment. Somethings are more important than football such as human lives and we are touched by this tragic incident because the girls are our sisters, daughters and future leaders of this great country.

“However, we also want to implore the general public with useful information to assist the security operatives so that our girls can return home peacefully,” Akinyooye pleaded.
